# What is a study schedule?

A study schedule is a sheet or a chart that assists you in organizing your study time and tasks. It helps you clear the goals of learning. You only need to make a plan by listing all your tasks on the sheet at the beginning, then follow it the rest of the time until you have finished all tasks. The sense of achievement, when you finished a task, will motivate you to continue studying.

You can create your study schedule by downloading one of these study schedule templates above or making a new blank study schedule in Excel.

# What should be included in a study schedule?

When creating a new study schedule from scratch, you need to consider the followings:

  • Types of Study Schedule Template

The first thing you need to do is choose a proper type of study schedule that meets your purpose, age, time, and ability. A study schedule can be hourly, daily, weekly, or even monthly. It is hard for a preschooler to follow a weekly study schedule, a daily study planner may be a good choice. People who don't have much time may want to create an hourly sheet. Students usually choose to create a weekly template base on their school agenda.

  • Study Time

Before managing your study time, make sure to find your best energy period. If you are a night person, you'd better leave your night-time to the hardest tasks. Or if you are an early bird, it is a good idea to learn something new in the morning. Next, you have to divide your study time into some time blocks. Some people find they are more productive during large periods of undisturbed time, while others prefer to have a short rest every 30 minutes.

  • Tasks / Goals

    • Don't make too many long-term goals, or you will find it is hard to stick to your schedule. Divide those into smaller tasks if you do have a lot of long-term goals.
    • Rank your goals base on priority. Make sure you spend most of the time on high-priority tasks.
  • Notes

Leave some blank spaces on your sheet in case you want to make some notes.
